DIY: Open Side Tank

diy-tank

Noticed something…missing from this season’s tanks? To show off Spring bandeaus and bikini tops, tanks this year are showing up sans-sides. And we think it’s pretty freakin’ cool…in every sense of the word.

Read on for the 5-minute (or less) DIY + Shop the Trend + How to wear the season’s open side tank

Just a few of our favorite open-side tanks this season:

THE HOW-TO
Materials:
*Oversized tee
*Sharp scissors

Instructions:
Cut off the both sides of the tee, from top to bottom (see image above). Cut in less than you think here, because you can always go back and chop off more. Make sure to leave the bottom extra wide, as you’ll want that extra fabric to tie the back and front panels together at the bottom. Throw it on over a bandeau or bikini top, and that’s it.

How To Wear the Trend:
*Wear over a pop color bandeau or bikini
*Pair with a fitted bottom
*Layer over a body-con dress to edge it out a bit

A few of our top bandeau picks:
bandeaus
