Shawn Parkin of Dana Point, Ca wins the $5,000 grant at the 7th annual Follow the Light Foundation Awards in memory of Larry “Flame” Moore. Staged at the Shorebreak Hotel in the middle of the US Open of Surfing, every major player in the surf industry convened to see who’d be the hottest new photographer to work with. Attendees included Kolohe Andino, Sal Masakala, Jack Freestone, Matty Wilko, PT, and a special dedication to the family of the late Sean Collins.
His variety of styles showcased his experience with stop-motion, water angles, line-up shots, panoramas, and night flash.
