Teahupoo breaks on two different ledges depending on the size of the wave. The swell forcasters called for 2-6 feet waves on the inside, but 8 ft slabs started rolling in off the outside during the opening days of the comp.

Unfortunately it was not to be the heat winning wave as Ace started his charge to the finals taking down big names.
Humble in victory, gracious in defeate. John John stokes out the groms
The final day of the competition saw bigger swell but with some welcome cloud cover.
Slater dropped his typical buzzer beaters, but had no answer for Ace.
