3 Cups 1 Day | Pipemasters Final Recap Fanning Wins a World Title, Slater Wins Pipe, & John John Takes the Triple Crown


SWELL photog Domenic Mosquiera braved the biggest crowds in Triple Crown history to capture the craziest Pipe final since AI vs. Slater.

Mick meditates before attempting a must-win, back-to-back buzzer-beater for his 3rd title.


After the A.I-esque roll-in and bottom-turn, Fanning grabs rail and prays for a 9.56 or higher.


With a 9.7, Mick clinches it.

John John Florence wowed his local crowd, taking down the 2013 world champ in the semifinals.

JJF’s last second, backdoor barrel was almost enough to snag his first Pipemasters trophy.
