On our long journey home from Big Sur we turned off the marked roads and headed down some less traveled paths. We followed these winding trails until we stumbled upon one of the prettiest beaches I have seen. We spent a few hours exploring the hidden beach and forgotten coastline in San Luis Obispo. I could’ve spent hours gazing at the ocean from one of the many perfect viewpoints we discovered. There is such a feeling of wonder that can only come about from experiencing the little pieces of paradise found on unplanned adventures. I had my beautiful new bells on that were perfect for climbing, finding my footing, and simply standing still to take it all in. While I gazed out at the ocean, sharp cliffs, and climbing foliage I kept the sun out of my eyes with my hat that I swear never comes off my head. Why should it? As it got a little breezier on the cliffs, I wrapped myself in my new printed jacket. Staying chic and comfortable are two things I always plan on no matter what new, spontaneous adventure may come around the corner.

I can’t really complain about living in Southern California, but sometimes I do wish we were able to see the brilliant fall colors this season showcases. I decided a trip up north would take me to these falls colors and also give me an adventure fix. So this past weekend I ventured up the coast headed north. With stops in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Cambria we made our way up the narrow roads to Big Sur! We decided to camp – which was chilly but so much fun. Once we pitched our tent we went out to explore what this amazing coastline has to offer. We stopped at McWay Falls, one of my favorite places to visit here and cruised all along the roads stopping in remote places that had the most spectacular views. One thing about going north is it is a little colder than I’m used to, so having some comfy jackets was a must. Boyfriend jeans are also a perfect camping staple as they slip on easily and make a comfortable and stylish way to keep warm. Here are some snapshots from my adventures and the clothing essentials for a camping trip in Big Sur!

There is nothing better than a three day weekend, especially when it’s 80 degrees out every single day. I got out of the house during this short holiday and wandered down to San Onofre. We parked our little surf mobile right on the sand and spent the whole day surfing, sleeping, and eating. I wore my vintage shorts while I was surfing, swimming, and rolling around in the sand. They are not only a sexy fit, but are also my favorite bright, but faded colors. They keep you warm in the water and make for a cute little getup on the sand. After a full day, I began packing up and wore the perfect basic coverup just as the wind came up. I love this simple, fun dress as it goes with any bikini underneath and has a v-neck with lace up strings that make it fun to run and twirl around in. It was a perfect day with the perfect pieces. When you are headed for sun and surf all you need is a coverup, bikini, and wetsuit shorts… and your board of course.
