When it comes down to the basic principle of working out, it’s all about a simple thing: moving your body. Yep, pretty simple. Go for a walk, run, jog, hike, paddle, go surf, walk the dog, dance around your house, do 100 jumping jacks, be a weirdo like me and go for an impromptu beach run in a bikini…which is great when you can jump in the ocean to cool off at the end.

Once you get up and start moving regularly, you feel better, you are more alert, and you are more productive…it’s like a healthy domino effect.

And it’s addicting. In a good way.

So, if you have one fitness goal for each day…make that quick decision to get up and put that body to work. It’s begging for it. Even if it’s just for a little bit.

I’m traveling with my husband at the moment, and after watching the sunset on the beach a few days ago he said, “We watched the sunset, check that off the list” …or something along those lines. I stopped in my tracks and emphatically replied, “Watching the sunset isn’t a to-do…it’s a way of life.”

He got it. I wrote it down, and now I’m passing it along to you all.

Watching the sunset is a way to unwind, take a breath, destress, live in the moment, and watch God showing off…no matter the location.

So yup, I believe that’s something that should be part of your daily or weekly routine and lifestyle… not on a check list.

Yeah, avocados have a bad rep for having a lot of calories, but, I though I’d shed some light on why those calories are well worth it.

Avocados help with: Oral cancer defense, breast cancer prevention, eye health, lowers cholesterol, heart health, stroke prevention, a source of glutathione, and are a Vitamin E powerhouse. They make a great hair mask, also make a hydrating face mask, and they are a great way to add healthy fat almost any recipe.

…and most of all.. they make guacamole.

So, say it loud and proud with me…AVOCADOS ARE AWESOME!

In the world of workout gear, there is a plethora of options. But, you know what I think the best kind of gear is? The kind that’s drenched in sweat. Sweat soaked, I just had a great workout and this is my proof, and I have to do laundry a ton each week because I am so sweaty…type of gear. I like to think of it as the Rocky Balboa mentality. Rocky wore the same grey sweats day in and day out. I doubt he was really trying to score any fashion points, and well, he rocks. Literally.

In a close second, (or perhaps tie). Is workout gear that’s drenched/covered/slathered in sand. Probably because of a long beach run,  a barefoot beach workout, or perhaps even a beach volleyball match.

…I think Rocky would approved of that gear too.
