FEETS OF FURY

csc2.jpg

Stop us if you’ve heard this one. During the 2002 World Cup, a group of NYC friends, designers, photographers, filmakers, artists and skaters came up with the idea to do something just for the sake of doing something (gasp!). And so came the birth of the Chinatown Soccer Club, a semi-organized soccer league that meets year round to play friendly games of six-on-six. Since their creation, CSC has derived enough interest to grab Adidas as a sponsor, develop a full line of t-shirts, hoodies and scarves, and become the darlings of every uber hip and underground publication across the country. We recently checked out their many posts on Arkitip.com and were blown away by this classic clip of the legendary Diego entertaining the crowd during a warm-up session. We’d be lying if we said we didn’t get a little misty.

HURLEY GIRLS: CRAZY BEAUTIFUL

hxg0104smi_hg_3_lg.jpg

Whoa, those guys at Hurley must be psychic. How else did they know that their Make Up / Break Up hoodies would debut at exactly the same time half of young Hollywood was having psychotic episodes. Mental breakdowns are so hot right now.

All craziness aside, these cool and modern zip-up sweatshirts give off a fairly normal first impression. But like a lot of pretty faces, their bipolar tendencies are seething just below the surface. Featuring zippers at front and back, and contrasting patterns, two separate hoodies can be torn apart and pieced back together in a variety of combinations. (Screw you Dr. Phil.) Designed to compliment the wearer’s many moods (or mood swings), it’s almost like getting four trendy sweatshirts for the price of two. We also hear that reversible versions will be available in spring 2008.

Could designer handbags that have adopted third-world orphaned wallets be far behind?

BIG GAME HUNTERS

yv7e4582.jpg

Last night around 2:45 am, we were half-watching a Life of Ryan marathon and contemplating whether or not to make a run for TBell. In this episode, Ryan’s recently jilted mom was lamenting about the sad state of her love life, how difficult it was to meet someone, yadda, yadda, yadda. Right then an there it dawned on us that we had just witness the birth of a full fledge cougar. Miraculous! And an O.C. one at that. Which means that not just any handsome and virile man-boy would satisfy her growing hunger. (more…)
