Transitions are an inevitable part of life. Whether they are planned or unexpected, they keep life interesting and push our limits. This week marks the transition of SeaMade to my new blog, The Salty Wolf. I’d love it if you checked it out and bookmarked it for future reading. There will be lots of fun adventures and creative works featured to keep you inspired and pushing outside your comfort box.
But before we say farewell to SeaMade, let’s take a look back at a few of my favorite posts over the last year..

The other morning I woke up at the witching hour of 3:15am. Even my usual playlist of Ludovico Einaudi couldn’t lure me back into dreamland. So by four I was up and brewing a mean grind of french pressed coffee and contemplating what to do next.
Being that it will still pitch black out, I got into some creative projects, like making collaged cards for friends & family. The last thing you want to do when you wake up early is get sucked into the interwebs of your computer. Next thing you know it’s 10am and all you’ve done is lay around, Pinteresting, tumblring, and online shopping…not that those aren’t fun but you can’t go wrong by starting your day with some movement.
So as my mug was drained and my caffeine buzz settled in, I hit the road to check out Encinitas by dawn. (more…)
People ask me all the time, “Aren’t you afraid of being eaten by a shark?” Well, as a surfer and frequent ocean frolicker, my chances of encountering sharks are pretty high. But no, I’m not afraid. Sure the thought of having my body ripped to shreds by the pearly knives of a great white disturb me, but it’s not a thought that frequently crosses my mind. If I were to constantly dwell on the thought of being attacked, I probably wouldn’t get in the ocean as much and that definitely would bum me out. Need some reasons to ditch the shark fear? Working out with a friend can keep you motivated and hold you accountable on your path to reaching your fitness goals. But what do you do when you can’t find a consistent work out buddy? Find a dog. Doesn’t even have to be your dog. You can borrow aforementioned noncommittal workout buddy’s dog and take them for a workout.
The right breeds of dogs (for instance a beautiful golden retriever named Marilyn) can be the best workout companions, especially since exercise is a necessity in their lives.
