Packing. The very thought of choosing between paying extra to check a bag or hoisting a 100-pound carryon into the overhead compartment makes me feel like throwing a tantrum. Or possibly eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s.
It’d be way easier to pack if I were the type of person who could relax on a beach in a bikini and cutoff shorts, but that’s just not me. My relaxation? It means hiking, biking, rock climbing, surfing, and caving. And that means packing a whole lotta gear. (more…)

As we came closer to Labor Day, I found myself itching for an outdoor adventure. After all, September is the Monday of months because it marks the end of tan skin, perfect weather and pink sunsets…So I felt as if I had to go out with a bang! Of course, my whim of wanderlust lead me to Morro Bay—A seaside village just North of San Luis Obispo. It is an easy drive straight up the scenic Highway 1.
