If I can think of one term that is overused today, it’s selfie. I get it though. Taking pics of ourselves is fun, helps us document parts of our life, especially when we look better than normal, or have fake eyelashes on. But I’ll admit it. The obsession is getting to me a little bit.  For the following reason.  One of the easiest ways to be unhappy in your life, is to have your mindset be all about…you. The me, me, me, meeeeeeeee mentality. It’s unhealthy, leads to narrow minded thinking, and to be blunt, is really boring to be around. (more…)

Long Live Summer

LeahHB_087
As summer begins to come to an end, I try to get in as much time at the beach as possible. Long summer days should always end with a skateboard down the boardwalk as the sun sets to pink and orange hues. For these last few summer moments it’s fun to pick out an outfit that will work all day. It has to be perfect for rolling around in the sand but also ready for skating until the stars come out. A bikini, sunnies, shorts, and some high socks make you feel like the ultimate tomboy, ready for some final summer adventures. Summer ending doesn’t mean the heat is leaving us too, so investing in a good pair of shorts and cute bikini will only do you good. Shorts are perfect for transitioning into fall and there is always a tropical beach vacation beckoning you and your best bikinis no matter where you may be. So say goodbye to summer in style, but don’t say goodbye to summer style!

Castle On The Beach

indah dress
My love for teepees started when I was a young girl. As far back as I can remember, if the surf was good and the sun was out, my dad would take my sister and I out of school a little early and drive us down to the beach. He would run into the water for a surf and leave the two of us to explore the untouched coastline. This particular beach break washed ashore various types of driftwood and pieces of bamboo. We would then spend the afternoon collecting, planning, and engineering the perfect teepee. Once built, it would turn into our own castle on the beach where we could sit and watch the crashing waves. I guess I never gave up this love for my little fort and so recently I created my very own teepee that I bring with me to the beach – it is quite humorous watching how people respond to me building a teepee on the beach. This past week, I wore this fun maxi dress on my teepee adventures and blinged it out with these amazing bracelets and necklace. This getup is perfect for any upcoming summer weddings, parties, or if you are just in need of a moment of peace, and decide to go sit in a teepee like me.
