While I am a huge advocate of progressive surfing, and think that the stuff kids are doing on shortboards these days is crazy and impressive, I am always going to love my logs. (more…)
I am 99.9997% sure that the biggest obstacle in health and fitness, is us. Me, you, all our excuses, business, and procrastination. We all have it and it’s a daily fight. Then, something that seems to get in the way is thinking that staring at a bunch of fitness inspiration pics, and reading a bunch of fitness posts will somehow magically get you healthier and in better shape. Road Trip Proofing Your Car A series on finding adventure, stoke, and a killer workout in the Great Outdoors from Johnie Gall of Dirtbag Darling.
I spend a big chunk of the year on the road, traveling from state to state in search mountain peaks and fun waves. What I’ve learned (besides roadside burritos are never a good idea)? That a fun road trip can turn ugly if you aren’t prepared with the right gear.
Deciding to embark on a spontaneous road trip doesn’t have to end in frustration. Nine times out of ten, you’ll roll back into the garage without a single hiccup in your journey. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prepared for all the things that could go wrong.
It’s easy to road-trip proof your car and stock it with the right supplies. Do it now and you’ll be ready to roll at a moment’s notice (and never have to get ripped off by a tow truck company again!).
Every logger you ask will tell you the same thing – the fin on your board is a crucial element to getting the most out of your wave riding experience. Whether you’ve got a classic square-tail noserider, a sleek rounded pin, or an experimental asymm, Captain Fin Co makes stylish skegs for all!
For my square-tail 9’5 log, I prefer the JJ Wessels 9 inch fin. The rake is perfectly versatile for setting my tail at points, reefs, and beach breaks!
