What’s in a fin? Aside from being those knifey things that stick out of your board and slice through the water (and hopefully not your skin), there are a lot of components to fins. Here are a few basics to focus on when deciding on a fin system for your board: (more…)
A longboard isn’t called a log for nothing. Even maneuvering a heavily glassed 9’0 noserider makes a petite little lady like myself feel like I’m coasting on a 300 year old redwood tree. Save yourself the frustration of getting caught on the inside with a few simple paddling techniques… (more…)
I love overalls, I could live and sleep in overalls. There is nothing better than when I find a pair of great overalls that look even better on me than they do hanging on the rack. It doesn’t matter which brand, where they came from, or how old they are, they just have to fit me like they were designed just for me. Not only are these overalls the perfect fit, but they are jungle print. If you know me, I do not wander far from loud, fun prints. So my favorite print combined with my deep love for overalls, makes for a match made in outfit heaven. The great thing about overalls is, unlike dresses and skirts, you can jump and run around in them. These overalls brought out my inner tomboy. I completed my laid back look with a matching backwards hat and dreams of climbing around a lush jungle. Tie on some converse and you’ll be back in grade school, only this time you’ll be cooler. If you really want to get a little wild, I sometimes pair these overalls with a leopard coat. While that may sound too wild for some, my excuse has been that both prints are “jungle theme” that counts for something right?

Paddling around to scrounge for waves will make you stronger but time on your feet is what you really need to improve your surf skills. (more…)
