To clarify: You want a cupcake, eat a cupcake. A fully loaded, sugar filled, and extra frosting topped one. You want a cookie, have a cookie. A butter, and chocolate chip filled, gooey one. Make sure to savor it, enjoy it, and love every bite. And here is the key… don’t do it that often. And I recommend only having one.
Cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and special treats aren’t made to be healthy. So I don’t recommend trying to make a healthy cookie/baked good. Think of why you are trying to make a healthy version…my guess is it’s so you can eat them more frequently, or so you don’t feel so bad eating 7 cookies at once. Yup, that totally negates any healthy benefit from the aforementioned healthy recipe. Plus, you end up just craving sweets even more. Trust me, carob chip sugar free chocolate chip cookies made with yogurt will have you running back for a batch of Nestle Toll House slice & bake in no time.
Eat the cupcake, and make it a special occasion treat (sorry, 5:00 every Wednesday and Friday after work doesn’t make it in the special occasion category). Then keep your focus on eating healthy.
