Did you hear that? It’s our hard ass bosses cracking the whip again. “COOLER! NEWER! BETTER!,” they scream. We never get to come down off our toes. Which is probably why we’re always a few steps ahead. Especially when it comes to discovering the best new brands. The Ryde, Insight, Hippy Tree, Few New Zealand, Analog, and GRN Apple Tree are just a handful of the up-and-coming brands we’re promoting this spring. We’ll do our best to make sure you come to know each one on a more intimate level, but for now we’d like to give you a deeper appreciation of The Ryde.
First off, The Ryde is an art driven clothing line born in Laguna Beach between the months of January and December of the year 2002. One day they decided they should start a company and make surfing apparel. The more they thought about it the more they wanted to make cool t-shirts, retro t-shirts, and trucker hats. They decided that they should call their company The Ryde. Their clothing is an outward expression of the way they view the world around them. Some might say their stuff is a novelty, but Swell thinks they’re seriously cool. Some might also say the tees are funny—but The Ryde didn’t do that on purpose. It was a happy accident. Sometimes they doodle in their notebooks and decide to make those drawings into art tees. It’s as simple as that. We could go on, but there’s really no point once you understand that The Ryde is all about great art and great products, and that they love you.
