FOX NEWS PICKS UP ON SWELL’S CELEBRITY STYLE

We knew our blog was good, but Fox News just told us exactly how good. As of today, their highly popular FNC iMag now features several webisodes with style maven Noelle Watters calling out Swell’s dead-on celebrity looks—but at a fraction of the celebrity price. If you’re one of our regular readers, you should be familiar with our Get The Look posts, in which we recreate a Hollywood fashionista’s outfit with our own special blend of surf style flavor. Apparently, the word is out on how well we do it.

MUSTACHE RYDE

For anyone who’s ever wondered how t-shirts are made, one of our favorite handlebar-mustached designers is here to show you. Now being that Jamie is from Ryde, a company that prides itself on one-of-kind creations, what you’re about to witness is a bit out of the norm. You see, Ryde is a very small company with all of their clothing made right here in Southern California. Some of the shirts are screened by local screen printers, but most are made right when you order them (by Jamie, unless he’s on vacation.). How do they do this? By using their direct-to-garment printer. What is direct to garment you ask? It means that the water-based ink is printed directly onto the blank tee shirt, much like the head on your desktop printer lays ink onto paper. The ink is still wet on the cotton afterwards, so they have to cure it by running the tee through a heat press for about 30 seconds. If this sounds like a lot of work and commitment, it is. Here are some of Swell’s top sellers:

WORTH ITS WAITS IN GOLD

We recently came across these two all-time clips of Wait’s doing what he does best. The first is an intro to an appearance on “Soundstage.” The second is a rare music video directed by Anders Lövgren.

AIRING DIRTY LAUNDRY ON LOST TV

Is nothing sacred? Apparently not for our friends at …Lost who are attempting to chronicle absolutely everything that makes their dirty minds tick. From after-parties, bikini contests, bar fights, boat trips, pipe sessions (think glass, not Hawaii) and fashion shows, nothing is safe and everything has the potential to appear on their upcoming Lost TV channel. Mostly great, some bad, but all sure to make you the king/queen of the cubicle vid viewing games.

IDOL WHOA-SHIP

Check out this video: The Master & The Apprentices - Part 1 of 3

Add to My Profile | More Videos Lucky. Effin. Bastards. Those are the three best words to describe the fortunate groms who were chosen to accompany Tom Curren on a secret boat trip. Bitter doesn’t even begin to describe how we’re feeling. Here’s Part 1 of the three part series that’s currently running on Rip Curl’s Myspace TV Page. Get ready to hate your parents for either having you to early or for not having a job at Rip Curl.

GOOD VIBRATIONS

For the most part, we never believe the hype. But the buzz about the film One California Day has got us feeling all tingly inside. Partly because it was shot in our backyard. But mainly because its grainy 16MM format reminds us of those personal health films we had to watch in the 7th grade. Using the tagline: “A collection of stories about the California surfing experience,” it’s safe the footage isn’t going to be the most epic you’ve ever seen. Which is actually good. Personally, hating on Fiji and Indo has made us jaded to our home turf. Which is pretty detrimental considering it’s been flat for 312 days here on Lake Pacific. We’re anxious to be inspired. Especially since Fuel has aired the same episode of Fins for the fifth time in a row.
