I’ve seen a certain quote circulating around a lot lately. I don’t know who said it, but it is a 100% certified, amazing truth. “Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.”
Yes, yes it is. Think back on some of your best stories, memories, laughs, pictures…my bet, is the majority of them have something to do with travel. Whether it was a weekend road trip or three weeks in South Africa, getting out and seeing what this big ‘ol amazing world has to offer is one of the more amazing and exhilarating things you can do.
If your idea of travel happens to involve a board that incurs a rather hefty baggage fee, well then let’s say that type of travel hits the jackpot. Surf trips get you in the water, give you a ton of exercise, and are great for your mental and physical health. Yes, even if there is an obnoxious wave hog in your group. Or a boat of them following you wherever you go.
So, my theory is this: if travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer, well then, a surf trip is like winning the lotto.
…which is always a great excuse to go on one.
