I just finished driving down the coast from Seattle to Los Angles, and it had to have been the best road trip of my life. Why? I went to so many new places…that made me feel really, really small.
Traveling somewhere new is one of the most exhilarating feelings ever (yes, even if it’s by car). But, traveling somewhere new that’s also vast, open, immense and full of natural beauty that makes your jaw drop to the sand…gives you a slap in the face in the form of a new perspective. We are so wrapped up in little things: likes, followers, gossip, celebs, and our own little worlds. But when you are standing on a vacant beach on the Oregon coast, you forget about it all. All you can think of, is how to catch your breath, because it’s so beautiful you forgot to breathe.
At least I did.

Here at SWELL, we love bikinis. I mean, we LOVE bikinis. So naturally, we adore the woman behind one of the top bikini brands out there, L*Space. With six (6!) “Best Swim Brand of the Year” awards and iconic swim styles to spare, founder Monica Wise is the ultimate role model for aspiring designers and beach beach babes from coast to coast. We had a chance to stop by L*Space HQ and get a sneak peek into Monica’s success and next season’s bikinis. Sadly, there was no room filled floor the ceiling with bikinis to dive into a-la Scrooge McDuck, but we did find some pretty rad stuff searching for the mythical dream-room. Read on for a photo tour of L*Space and interview with the woman, the myth, the bikini legend…

There is nothing better than a three day weekend, especially when it’s 80 degrees out every single day. I got out of the house during this short holiday and wandered down to San Onofre. We parked our little surf mobile right on the sand and spent the whole day surfing, sleeping, and eating. I wore my vintage shorts while I was surfing, swimming, and rolling around in the sand. They are not only a sexy fit, but are also my favorite bright, but faded colors. They keep you warm in the water and make for a cute little getup on the sand. After a full day, I began packing up and wore the perfect basic coverup just as the wind came up. I love this simple, fun dress as it goes with any bikini underneath and has a v-neck with lace up strings that make it fun to run and twirl around in. It was a perfect day with the perfect pieces. When you are headed for sun and surf all you need is a coverup, bikini, and wetsuit shorts… and your board of course.
