Read Part 1: Costa Rica Surf Trip, Part 1
I got some great packing tips from Natazha (from School of the World) for my upcoming trip to Costa Rica. Constantly flying to different countries and cities for her modeling jobs, here is what she had to say of her 10 must haves:
“When packing for a surf trip, I like to pack things that are light, comfortable, and multi-functional.”
Read on for Natazha’s packing list…
Bikinis are the most important thing to pack on a surf trip. You need ones that look great lying on the beach but that are also functional to surf in. I really like Billabong’s Mandy leopard print bikini. With it’s striking animal print it is definitely a bold statement in or out of the water!
It’s good to always pack at least two bikinis, or in my case I always pack at least five! Living between California and Costa Rica they are a staple in my everyday wardrobe!
Another bikini that I really love is this one by Roxy. It has a more sporty feel than the leopard print but with the back detail it still keeps it sexy. I also really like the colorful print.
In case it gets chilly it is always smart to pack a little something to keep you warm. This L*Space beach poncho is perfect for throwing over a bikini at the beach or the perfect thing to wear at night over a pair of skinny jeans. I love the fringe detailing and the lightweight fabric.
I really like this beach blanket, not only because of it’s cool native print but also because you can lay out on it during the day or take it with you to a bonfire at night and curl up! It also has straps on side so that is easy to roll up and carry around.
I don’t even leave the house without my sunnies. Packing sunglasses on a surf trip is super important because you want to protect your eyes from the sun, especially if going somewhere tropical where the sun’s rays are more powerful. I love these Raen tortoise shell sunglasses. They have a very classic shape and are also polarized which is a bonus… cuts out the glare when staring at the surf.
This Billabong beach bag is perfect for stuffing whatever you need for a beach day into one bag. It’s oversized and made with durable fabrics so you don’t have to worry about it getting ruined. I love the color and the graphic print on this bag.
These Billabong sandals are a great pick. They are easy to take on an off and can easily go from the beach or to the street. I love the turquoise color because it’s a nice splash of color without being too obvious.
On every trip I take, I always pack a dress. When heading to hot climate I like to pack things that are easy to throw on and look like you are still put together. This Billabong dress is just that. It’s black color gives it a sophisticated look but the lacy design and lightweight fabric give it a fun breezy feel. And the back cutouts have a double function of being sexy and also keeping you cool.
Shorts are also a must have. Ones you can wear down to the beach and around town. I really love these Rvca shorts because of the simple design and the unique neutral color. They can be paired with just about anything.
This Billabong tank is adorable. I love not only the flow-y style but also love the versatility of this top. You can wear it during the day, down to the beach over a bikini and with a pair of shorts or dress it up at night with some skinny jeans and heels.
Another staple to always bring on any trip is a great pair of jeans. I love these RVCA skinny jeans. I really like the fact that they have stretch and the dark wash pretty much goes with anything.
