Saturday Salute: The Perfect Pina Colada

coconut-drink-645
We’d call this one a “skinny” pina colada, but that might read girly, which this cocktail is most-certainly not. With zero added sugar and a heavy hand of rum, this libation resembles a “perfect” margarita (tequila, lime, triple sec). This 3-ingrediant, under-diluted beverage is a tropical take on the classic.

DIY: Tapered Harem Pants

diy-tapered-harem-pants
If you thought a pegged leg was only applicable to acid wash denim or overalls, it’s time to re-think your folding strategy. A simple peg leg fold turns summer beach pants into fall’s favorite harem pants. Pair your newly tapered pant with a pair of booties and a cropped jacket for the full effect.

Aloha Print Dress
If you’re happy and you know it you can do many things.  You can clap your hands, do a little dance, have permagrin, give a stranger a bear hug, have an excuse to go do something out of the ordinary, or, in my case…rock some aloha print.

Aloha print not only puts me in a good mood, but it’s a foolproof way to say, “Hey, today is a freaking fantastic day, and I am enjoying it” without annoying any pessimists or people who just got a parking ticket after locking their keys in the car.

It’s good to be happy. Don’t hide it. Go rock some clothing of the tropical print genre. Any day, any season, and anywhere.

A Slice of Life | Viva México! Guest Series by Stephanie Schechter

Pineapple Tank
Hola! I spent the last ten days surfing with my family in Mexico, in a beautiful area called Punta Mita. The town itself is pretty small, with an oceanfront main drag that includes a handful of restaurants and a tiny harbor that is home to about 20 ponga boats. There are several surf spots nearby, including pumping reef breaks and peeling point breaks. Because the surf was so plentiful, and September is off-season, we never ran into any crowds! The fish tacos were AMAZING, and the weather was gorgeous the entire trip, with clear skies and 90 degree turquoise waters. Viva México!
