Growing up, I always admired my mom’s fun collections of clothing from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. She told me she was holding onto all the items because the trends would roll back around, and I could be retro-chic. Sure enough, all of the vintage pieces fit into modern day styles. Starting in high school, I would wear her weird/cool stuff everywhere, and since her name is Janet, we call them Jan-Me-Downs! My favorite Jan-Me-Down is a black concho hat from the late 1980s. Lately I’ve been wanting to take a road trip every chance I get. So the past few weekends have been spent traveling up to Yosemite, down to Encinitas, and a pit stop in San Onofre. You don’t have to go far to feel free and refreshed. Whether it is jumping in the salt water, standing among the redwoods, or listening to the sound of the waves from your tent, find your happy place and then take the time to do last minute road trips to wherever that may be.
Yep, your favorite elementary school trend is back in full force… no, not slap bracelets (remember those?)… but overalls! Wear ‘em with a floppy hat over a crop tee, a bikini top, a bodysuit, or anything really, because no matter what, you’re guaranteed to look pretty dang adorable.
