Take some free diving lessons. Or at least get some practice in – simply working on holding your breath and getting out in the water counts as practice. The more you work on improving your free diving skills, the more time you’ll have underwater. The more time you have underwater, the better your chances are of getting the perfect photograph.

Spear Fishing in Tahiti is beyond just a hobby, it is second only to our love for surfing! It goes hand in hand with the Tahitian lifestyle. If we take a boat out for a good day of surf, there is inevitably a spear gun or two aboard in case someone takes a break and wants to catch the post surf meal, unless you catch gets stolen by sharks known for stalking us. A surfboard, a kayak, a paddle board, an outrigger, a mask and fins, hiking boots, a bike that moves, a dog, sunshine, sand, saltwater, fresh air…vitamin D. The list could go on and on. But if you think about it, some of the best things for your health, or even “health equipment” is rarely found in a gym.
If there as a gym that included all of this stuff, sign me up. As long as it’s free. And there aren’t annoying overly spray tanned men in spandex and fanny packs trying to give me surfing tips.
