#SWELLivin

If there’s one sport that’s close to my heart, it’s stand up paddleboarding. It relaxes me, is soothing, is like taking an early morning walk on water, helped me get back in the water regularly after I moved away from Hawaii, is a great time to be quiet, and (finally) is just really peaceful. Unless it’s super windy. I love how it gets people on the water who are, or have been landlocked, gets people who are scared of the water somewhat in the water, and is something you can now do all over the globe. Surf Photo Tip: Wave Positioning with Water Angles 19 yr old Luke Forgay On Getting in the Sweet Spot for the Shot

My favorite to shoot in water is a fisheye lens and with the surf photography market flooded with fisheye photos there are ways to differentiate your style.” (more…)

A Slice of Life | Polar Plunge

lspace-underwater
Last weekend, I thought for some reason it wouldn’t be freezing to jump into the pacific without a wetsuit, in California, in the middle of winter. I was wrong. It was cold. But, it was totally worth it! After the initial shock of the frigid waters (and after my extremities went numb…) I sort of got used to the temperature and really enjoyed feeling free to swim around without any neoprene restricting my movements! I exited the ocean feeling fresh, renewed, and ready to face any challenges that come my way this year.
