Don’t be afraid to play with foreground. A lot of people get caught up in the best background for a photo.
Often, people underestimate the effect an object in the foreground can have. I like to capture moments when schools of fish are swimming between myself and the model, or have a model explore around some coral heads that lie between us.

SWELL: Walk us through a typical day working at Rhythm in Burleigh?
Marc: The boys normally have a little pre-work surf and the girls will do their pilates, yoga, walks or swims. A lot of us meet for coffee at Canteen then head into the office. Everyone’s pretty flat out all day but there’s definitely a lot of laughs, dance-breaks, fun and kookiness thrown amongst the seriousness. (more…)

Yoga is a great way to help strengthen and tone your body. What sets yoga apart from other forms of exercise is the use of breath, awareness of the body and intention. Linking breath and movement not only helps your body move more smoothly through the postures, but it also has a very calming effect on your mind. This allows you to move with focus and ease. With these simple, yet challenging postures, focus your attention inside of your body to feel which muscles are working. Your attention to your breath, body and intention will help you become physically and mentally stronger.
