Photo Tip: Kelsey Finn

The Ballerin645a
Photo Tip of the Week from photo contributor, Kelsey Finn…
Get creative! You don’t have to wear a bikini or boardshorts underwater. Try out an aloha shirt for a guy or a flowy skirt on a lady. When you want to step up your creativity grab some props! My personal favorite is a sarong or long, sheer piece of fabric. It adds a little texture and cool movement in my photos. (But please be safe! Only wear light clothing that won’t hinder your movement.)

SeaMade: Surf Cross Training | Core A series on surf, cross training and lessons on all things salty by guest blogger, Madison

The core is essential to the strength of the entire body, so why is it that working my abs seems like the most torturous thing to do, ever?! For me, my abs aren’t exactly visible, thanks to my love of craft beer and chocolate, but hey- I know that I am strong from the inside out. When I work my core, it inspires me to keep the workout going and go running or surf or something, which will only lead to more unveiling of that secret six-pack. Ready ditch the keg and bring on the six-pack? Here is a quick workout that is sure to make your stomach feel like you just pounded a cup of Fire Ball.

One of the easiest ways to burn more calories and be healthier, is by choosing to use your own two feet and walk. Elevators, cars, and escalators, although quite convenient, steal the calorie burning potential that walking so easily provides. Ahhh, the nerve of technology.

If you can walk somewhere instead of driving, do it. If there is a beach, park, lake or trail nearby, go for a quick walk. If you can take the stairs, do it. If an escalator is broken and temporarily stairs, count it a blessing. I am that gal in the airport always taking the stairs with my carry on, that gal who suggests walking to lunch, and that gal who goes for a walk on the beach any chance she gets, rain or shine. And I have no shame in admitting it.

So the question is…where are you walking today?
