Happy Friday! How are we celebrating the start of the weekend? Doing what we do best here at SWELL – Aloha Friday. (more…)
A surfboard, a kayak, a paddle board, an outrigger, a mask and fins, hiking boots, a bike that moves, a dog, sunshine, sand, saltwater, fresh air…vitamin D. The list could go on and on. But if you think about it, some of the best things for your health, or even “health equipment” is rarely found in a gym.
If there as a gym that included all of this stuff, sign me up. As long as it’s free. And there aren’t annoying overly spray tanned men in spandex and fanny packs trying to give me surfing tips.

Photo Tip of the Week from our newest photo contributor, Kelsey Finn…

Before we starting saying, “see you next year” to our beloved bikinis, let’s not forget how rad Indian Summers are in California. It’s that time of year when tourists go home, waves are pumping, and sun still blazes strong. September and October are two of the best wave months in California due to a usually steady combo of north and south swells. Combine fair weather and a plethora of waves, and you have yourself one great reason to hit the road for a surf camp trip. To get you going in the right direction, I’ve put together a little list of my favorite campgrounds that have potential for great fall surf nearby. Onward!
