My first rock climb was up a towering rock formation looming over California’s Idyllwild wilderness—three pitches and many hours with two much more experienced friends who would make sure I was safe. It was way out of my league and I scrambled over the top with bloody fingers, scraped knees, shaking arms and barely a scrap of energy left. First off, did you build the snowman for that shot? haha
Ryan: Before I swam out to shoot some fisheye, I noticed a young child building the snowman and I knew I had to get out before the sunset and grab a lineup shot. After swimming for awhile I ran back to change out of my wetsuit and hurried back to snap this photo. So stoked I did. As to all the people asking, no this is not photoshopped or a composite image.
