The judges at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast this go-around are serving out dimes like they’re going out of style. To the demise of a few fantasy surfer rankings, Parko’s undeniable victory yesterday was topped off with his second perfect ten of the day. Some solid waves and nearly flawless surfing led Joel Parkinson to the Gold Coast win and to the top of the ASP tour rankings. Bravo Parko.

Stephanie had dominated most of the final, but in the last minutes fellow finalist Melanie Bartels stepped it up and fought hard to give Gilmore a scare. “I was definitely nervous surfing against her,” Steph said. “She’s a great surfer and I know she has the ability to throw good scores right back at me.” (more…)
A perfect ten. Some hypothesize it was the double grab, some accredit it to his outstanding flair, others propose it is the anti-chafing Diamond Dobby boardshorts he was rocking, but whatever the factors may be, Dane Reynolds scored a perfect 10 this weekend at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
Despite the popular speculation that the judges were a little overzealous when dishing out the ones and zeros this go-around, Dane seems to be pretty stoked on smashing his first ever dime.
