San Clemente Local Wins the O’Neill Cold Water Classic

nate

Right on, right on.  Proof that San Clemente does, in fact, rule: SC local Nathan Yeomans  ripped a new one in some of the best surfers in the world this past weekend, taking home the win at the Santa Cruz O’Neill Cold Water Classic contest. Next step for San Clementians (San Clementines, San Clemente-ites?): try to take over the world with our radiation-filled tans and arsenal of spicy taco shops by the way, Pedros followers, la Tiendita has you beat by miles). Bah, ha, ha!

What’s new with the San Clemente High School Surf Team…VICTORY!

“This morning at T-street the San Clemente Tritons and Newport Harbor Sailor’s met for the second time this season in a match-up that would help determine the Leage Champions. The last match was won by the Sailor’s 94-74 up in Newport. There was plenty of swell on tap for the competition with the best surf showing up in the Men’s longboard heat. In that heat the Triton surfers, Nick Hagen, Dennis White and Eli Gillis recorded the only clean sweep of the morning. The rest of the Tritons also dominated by winning every heat. The Tritons had a commanding lead half way through and never looked back. The final score San Clemente 103 Newport Harbor 65. It was a great team victory by everyone! Up next for the Triton’s, a contest against Aliso on Friday and then the League Individuals next week at Upper Trestles.”

San Clemente Surf Team Update…SCHS vs. Laguna Beach Contest

schs

Swell’s local San Clemente Surf Team is back in action; once again laying down mad style points. Below is a quick update from Coach:

Tuesday morning saw the SCHS surf team waking up to rainy dreary conditions.   As soon as the call was made to run the event the rain disappeared and 2-3 foot peaky T-street appeared before the competitors.  Everyone bundled up on the beach watching the action saw San Clemente claim its first win of the season over Laguna Beach High School 102-66.  It was a great bounce back victory for the Tritons.  Stellar performances were turned in by Jonah Carter, Levi Gregory, Josh Mostow, and Eli Gillis who all placed first in there heats.  Up next for the Tritons will be Newport Harbor next Tuesday morning at 56th Street.
