WINTER TREND: BRITNEY’S TOGGLE COAT

togglecoat A favorite of Brit and Paddington Bear, the toggle coat is making a big comeback this season. Taking inspiration from circa 1952, stuffed bears, and the Gorton’s fish stick guy, the toggle coat is a playful way to add some funk to the black coat-dotted streets this winter. We love this classic detail that adds some jazz to your basic winter coat without making it too bold to wear every day. With winter storms and hot dates on their way, you’ll be thankful you have the fun outerwear issue buckled down! 1. BILLABONG TIMELESS JACKET 2. HURLEY SASHA JACKET 3. HURLEY KATE COAT 4. BILLABONG HAZE SWEATSHIRT 5. O’NEILL URBAN LEGEND JACKET 6. FLO HUSH SWEATER

RVCA SIGNS SUPERMODEL ERIN WASSON TO THREE-YEAR DESIGN DEAL

“I’m going to get my rocks off seeing girls in California skating around wearing my clothes more than I think I will seeing it in the fashion world.”  – Erin Wasson

As if you needed another reason to love Rvca, the uber action sports /art lifestyle brand recently picked up uber model Erin Wasson to develop a signature line featuring her beachy tomboy-chic inspirations. Best known for her megga ad campaigns for Balenciaga and H&M, the line launches in January and will include cotton tank tops, denim cutoffs, a wool miniskirt, a silk button-down emblazoned with tiny thunderbolts, and a jaunty blazer with a zipper running up the back. The entire 16-piece collection will range in prices between $55 – $230. In a recent interview with WWD, Erin expalined she thinks the problem with surf and skate companies is that “…girls’ stuff tends to have a lot of pinks and blues and it’s just assumed that’s what girls want to wear… When I used to wear skate clothes the only ones I really ever loved was WESC. Volcom used to be cool but then went off the boil. I reckon this line might be something along the lines of WE, which is great news. Not all girls who love to snowboard and skate have punk taste.” Hmmm, sounds like Erin has already sewed herself some pretty big britches. We’ll keep you posted on the line’s arrival here at Swell.
