Boardshort Build-Off: A Poolside Love Affair

Surfing’s best boardshort builders were challenged by Stab Magazine to curate a one-of-a-kind surf trunk with the purest form of passion and performance. Themed after Poolside with Slim Aarons, the boardshort was to embody a digest of Mediterranean jet-setters from the mid 20th century.

A short film contest was created to capture the true values of the surf industry, which is, of course… finding beautiful women and exotic destinations.

With the bragging rights for “World’s Best Surf Trunks” and a Stab Mag cover-shot at stake, heavy hitting surf manufacturers called upon their best designers to dream up the ultimate one-off style. Beau Campi of Burleigh Heads, QLD designed the trunks for Billabong, and his classic aussie demeanor has sent many maidens swooning into poolside love affairs.
