The Larry “Flame” Moore Memorial at Salt Creek A slightly controversial, yet incredibly epic plaque installed by local surfers
Dana Point Local’s install a Plaque mounted rock at the Salt Creek Point Lookout in memory of Larry “Flame” Moore. Flame was the Chief Photo Editor of Surfing Magazine for 30 yrs before losing a battle to brain cancer. The beloved lensman’s surf photos put Salt Creek surf on the map and was known as a visionary for pushing progressive style of surf media.

The 10th year of the Follow the Light Foundation awards is now open for entries. If you or if you know aspiring photographers, we are awarding a $5,000 grant and adding to an impressive list of accomplished photographers who got their start from the this foundation in memory of the late Larry “Flame” Moore.
