Sharing is caring, right? Then debunk the Hallmark holiday by gifting a practical present that you and her can both enjoy. Make sure to write an extra sentimental card in case she’s prone to see through your plot to re-gift these surf essentials to yourself.
Here’s our picks for mutually beneficial gifting this Valentines Day
1. UNISEX SUNGLASSES -New RAEN styles are fresh for the taking
All-over print are all-around favorites in the eternal summer of 2014. The origins can be traced to the Canadian Tuxedo trend of 2010 when every surfer sportied chambray, then Catchsurf introduced the elastic waist Cali pantsuit.
Now the trend has put a twist on every article of clothing in your kit, here’s our favorite locked down looks:
1. Billabong: A reinvented era of hula style laced with a camo color-story but preserving the birds of paradise.
Inspired by: Shane Dorian’s bow hunting missions around him home on Maui
Since his Follow the Light Foundation Grant Award, Duncan Macfarlane’s travel itinerary has been synonymous with the best swell stories in surf media. But surf isnt his only angle, Billabong just printed an exclusive run of Duncan’s graphic art in their spring tee line.
Here’s a little style insight from the Surfing Magazine Photographer:
SWELL: Your Instagram shows @DuncanM has been getting his passport stamped on the regular. Any newly discovered spots your dying to revisit?
Duncan: Yeah. I’ve been on the move a fair bit the past year or two. Among the usual surf destinations like Indo and Europe I have to say Sri Lanka was on of my favourites. I’d love to head back there one day. (more…)
Sweater season is upon us, and the newest brand on SWELL upped the Ugly sweater game to epic proportions. Sadly, SWELL sold out of these classic cuts, but we have others here and we’re stoked they killed it in the Shark Tank. Co-founder Nick Mortson breaks it down.
SWELL: First off, Is this Shark Tank show the real deal? Or another phoney reality TV show?
Tipsy: YES IT WAS VERY REAL, WE WERE IN THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR AND THEY ASKED EVERY QUESTION ANY NORMAL VC WOULD ASK. THE EDITORS OF COURSE EDIT IT DOWN TO A 10-15 MIN CLIP SO I THINK THEY TAKE SOME LIBERTIES THERE BUT AS FAR AS DEALS GO ON THE SHOW AND HOW THE DISCUSSIONS AND EVERY THING FEEL IN THE SHOW IT COULDN’T BE MORE REALISTIC. ALSO ABC USED TO TAKE A CUT OF YOUR COMPANY JUST FOR BEING ON THE SHOW BUT THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE. WE DIDNT GIVE UP ANYTHING TO BE ON THE SHOW OTHER THAN ANY DEALS THAT WERE MADE WITH SHARKS ON THE SHOW
