King Slater retook his front row contest parking spot (yes, they actually assign parking by rank) with 4 perfect rides to win The Volcom Fiji Pro at flawless Cloudbreak. He threaded throaty tubes with ageless agility in his high performance Quiksilver Brigg Boardshorts. The 4-way stretch surf trunks has a 20 inch outseam that falls just above the knee to prevent ballooning and hang-ups. Get Slater’s Boardshorts.

Nat Young
put in his bid for Rookie of the Year by locking in double barrels and buzzer beater wins…except when playing b-ball with seabass. He and bunk mate Kolohe Andino rock Hurley’s Block Party with the iconic stripe and rash free stretch comfort. Shop a dozen colors here.

fijitajTaj’s last second loss to seabass in rd 5 woulda been a victory for others, but Taj trains his ass off all year in his high performance Invert Boardshorts by Billabong. Taj aptly goes inverted, and so should you here.

Jordy Smith came in as a comp favorite with his full bag of tricks, and he bagged some smoking tubes with heavy rail work ta boot. His 5th place finish keeps him in the hunt for a word title, and he’ll surely flare up in the Hyperfreak shorts at Karamas next week.

fijijoelParko was gone fishing,  missing the first round, but fought back for a quarter final finish. Joel logged nearly perfect heat scores, walking on water with Billabong Transverse’s Water repellent coating that eliminates absorption, friction and rashes.

The Battle of Americans staying on Tavi vs Aussies Staying on Nomotu has been settled, and Slater added another giant check to his trophy room. Get all the island inspired apparel from the event sponsoring barrel hounds at Volcom and get a free pair of sunnies.volcom-highwear

Party Wave Patriots Team SWELL Invades Salt Creek on Catchsurf Boards & USA Attire

To celebrate a summer of America style, the SWELL crew called up our boys at Catchsurf for a party wave session at Salt Creek. We threw on our finest american attire, and took over the middle peak for some flag-waving fun.

The art of soft-top party waves follows a unique ettiquitte code. It can get dudes pretty sour if you dont do it right.

Here’s the road to respect on the Odysea:
1. Dont paddle straight out the back and start picking off choice set waves
2. Pull into some closeouts tubes before paddle-battling for the clean ones
3. Tell a short boarder that they can hop you, since you wont be heaving airs or snaps
4. Throw in some fun moves like soul arching, cross-stepping, and jitter bugging
5. Fins first take-off trick is like pulling a coin from behind a kid’s ear, but do it anyways
6. Bump your buddies and wear Patriotic Apparel!!!

Win It Wednesday: Ezekiel

ezekiel USA

The Ezekiel Surf Club paid SWELL a visit after filming their Summer 2013 lookbook down at the harbor. The boys were dripping wet from testing new trunks styles on their hand-shaped single fins.  To celebrate the launch, they’re hooking up one lucky fan with a $200 shopping spree. Enter Win here today only for Win It Wednesday.

We asked Surf Captain Kyle Kennelly to sum up the inspo behind the reinvented Ezekiel Summer Line, “[It's based on] a time when surfing was considered a passion, an escape for a select subculture of society to get away from their humanly struggles and envelope themselves blissfully within nature, to harness the kinetic energy of gently rolling swells as they approach a distinctly and organically created shoreline and elegantly dance upon the oceans surface with their friends.”

Get behind the scenes and shop the summer steeze here.
