Back in the Shop | Penny Skateboards New Pro Model Boards and Patriotic Prints Arrive for Summer Skating

The proprietors of performance plastic skateboards unveiled 7 new models this summer. Penny partnered with Christian Hosoi, who Transworld SKATEboarding named “the fourth most influential skateboarder of all time” creating a signature board seen shredding by the groms in his block party edit above.

Standout summer skate style include the American Flag penny, Space Skate and Rasta Fade.
The universally loved versatility of the retro trucks was on display on Go Skateboarding Day, when penny fans tagged #PennyMoments.  Here’s our insta fan favorites.

Meet Your Maker | Billabong’s Ryan Milner Billabong Graphic Illustrator Gives Insight to Action Sports Art Inspo


 What path did you follow to arrive at your Billabong art career?

From the beginning, I was blessed with great parents who fostered a creative environment and pushed me to do what I love. When I realized I wanted to pursue art for a living, I was intimidated, but worked as hard as possible. I eventually was accepted to Cal State Long Beach, where I majored in Illustration.

SeaMade: #CityWild 3rd Point Stories of native wanderings by blogger, Madison

Exiting the canyon and making our way down Las Virgenes Road, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far we had come. From the campground to our makeshift trail to cliff jumps and stream paddles, we were all feeling really psyched and ready to jump in the ocean. The panoramic ocean view kept our minds off the heat mirages coming up off the pavement to lick our ankles.

SeaMade: #CityWild 2nd Point Stories of native wanderings by blogger, Madison

The big day had arrived- the day of hiking 10 miles to go surf. Once we set forth from camp, the CityWild crew wandered down Las Virgenes road for about half a mile before dropping into the Malibu Creek Canyon. While walking through an emerald green meadow just off the hot black pavement, I turned and asked Adam, “When does the trail start?” With a sly grin he replied, “I don’t know- you’re on it I suppose”.
