savethedatedfh

Billabong is at it again, saving the world one outfit at a time, a different cause a year all while rocking out! Billabong’s 5th annual Design for Humanity Event is being held Wednesday, June 15th at the Paramount Studios in Hollywood, Ca. Started by Billabong’s marketing, art and design teams, Design for Humanity was an opportunity to give back and benefit an organization close to the heart of our community and industry by combining fashion, art and music, all in the name of a good cause. Every year there is a big name band that rocks the crowd, art that’s a killer, and lovely ladies in fashion that are so beautiful they capture every heart. Started in April 2007, the very first Design for Humanity was held at Avalon and Spider Club in Hollywood with Shiny Toy Guns and DJ Vice, benefitting SurfAid International. In the following years they have had musical guests such as Steve Aoki, MGMT, and Fischerspooner, benefiting non-profits such as Surfrider Foundation and Invisible Children. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will be taking the stage this year in hopes of raising huge awareness and profits for VH1’s Save the Music. And don’t fret, this isn’t an “invite only/someone who knows someone” event; you can go too! Tickets go on sale today at www.DesignForHumanity.com / $30 for General Admission and $99 for VIP. Can’t wait to score your tickets? Don’t panic- you can listen to The Zero’s here while you’re waiting in angst to score your tix!

5 Spring Essentials

Spring has finally sprung and it is time to bust out cute sandals and flowing tops! There are 5 staples every girl should have their closet for spring that will definitely carry over to summer chic.

1. A Sheer and Simple Tunic Top or Dress
A perfect add to your spring wardrobe. It’s light, flowey, and a extremely versatile. You can wear it as a dress, top it with leggings or even a cute pair of skinny jeans.

2. A Cute and Flirty Bikini

It is obvious that bikini’s in general are a girl’s spring/summer staple. We basically live in them and wear them more than any other piece of clothing! But unlike a standard black string bikini, every girl will need something a bit girlier and flirtier for these upcoming months!

3. A Stylish Yet Practical Hat

Hats. They aren’t our favorite because let’s face it.. hat hair is NOT cute! But our skin is definitely more important. The sun is ridiculously harsh right and why not protect your beautiful face while being stylish in that fedora that is wildly popular with celebrities right now!

4. Sandals That Go With Everythin’ and Add a Little Somethin’

You always have your go-to sandals for when you just don’t know what other shoes to wear. They are comfortable, they are versatile and usually they are just so freakin’ cute. Well here are your new go-to sandals with an extra bit of spice. If you are a girlie girl or not these will work for anyone and everyone. Come on… they’re so perfect!

5. Aviators. Enough Said.
These have been a proven staple by celebrities, fashion icons, and pretty much anyone else! Aviators will not go out of style so you pretty much NEED to own a pair. These are perfect for spring/summer with the light frame and glass. If Heidi can do it, why can’t you?

I Really Love My….UGG CLassic Cardy’s

green

Not to rip off People Magazine but Ashley Greene can’t get enough of her black UGG Classic Cardy boots and neither can we! These things are so comfortable and so versatile. They’re paired best with leggings and long comfy top or even jeans and a sweater! The fur lining on the bottom of the foot is what makes them that much more amazing. I can seriously wear these all day long and not even want to take them off. Nice fashion statement of comfort Ashley!
