A Slice of Life | Sayulita Guest Series by Stephanie Schechter

Processed with VSCOcam with s3 preset
One afternoon during our Mexican adventure, we drove into the incredibly charming town of Sayulita. Adorable cafes and heladerías lined the cobblestone streets, intermittently dotted with handicraft, textile and artwork shops. The town has a decorative heart theme, which of course ups their cuteness factor tenfold. Coincidentally, local folk textiles use pom-poms on purses and pillows, so my Angie Pom Clutch fit right in!

A Slice of Life | Viva México! Guest Series by Stephanie Schechter

Pineapple Tank
Hola! I spent the last ten days surfing with my family in Mexico, in a beautiful area called Punta Mita. The town itself is pretty small, with an oceanfront main drag that includes a handful of restaurants and a tiny harbor that is home to about 20 ponga boats. There are several surf spots nearby, including pumping reef breaks and peeling point breaks. Because the surf was so plentiful, and September is off-season, we never ran into any crowds! The fish tacos were AMAZING, and the weather was gorgeous the entire trip, with clear skies and 90 degree turquoise waters. Viva México!

A Slice of Life: Fall into Fall

others-follow-jacket
Somehow, summer flew by, and we’re settling into fall. That means back to school, back to regularly scheduled showers (hey, in summer, surfing counts as bathing, right?), and back to jackets! I’m loving earth tones this autumn, and this cropped army green Others Follow sweatshirt is absolutely on trend. Its canvas vest with soft cotton hood and sleeves – plus the patterned sweater trim – makes for the perfect combo of mega comfy, mega stylish outerwear, excellent to throw on after those crisp morning surfs.

A Slice of Life: Meditation Gardens

swamis1
I’ve grown up surfing at the famous Swamis, known for its reeling rights, beautiful cliffs, and of course – the Self Realization Fellowship (hence the name, Swamis). The SRF welcomes people of any religion, faith, or belief system to walk through the Encinitas temple’s beautiful meditation garden. The garden is intended to be a place where guests can cleanse their minds of stress and worry, while taking the time to sit and enjoy some peaceful self-reflection. Plus, there’s a pretty great view of Swamis and Boneyards – just in case you want to check the surf while meditating.
