Making of: Dane Reynolds’ New Vans + Launch Party Pics The Man (and Dogs) Behind Surfing Freshest New Footwear

With the help of his insta popular pooch Pam, Dane drew up a new shoe worth partying about. His new Vans are covered in k-9s and built to thrash a mini-ramp, hit the pit or stumble through the Central Coast. He unveiled his signature “Black Ball SF” style at the US Open of Surfing and the crew got loose… HB Style.

Seth de Rouet Win 2015 Follow the Light Award Event Recap of the Most Prestigious Ceremony in Surf Photography

3 Time Finalist Seth de Roulet of Santa Barbara took home top honors and a $5K check to further pursue his career in Surf Photography. Amidst the chaos of the US Open of Surfing was a display of surf media’s finest future lensmen. The 5 finalists presented their slideshows to a standing-room only crowd of the world’s best surfers for the 10th annual Follow the Light Foundation Awards”

Seth used a combination of his fine arts background and the Central CA Coast scenery to capture the vote of the judging panel made up of Peter Taras, Jeremiah Klein, Russ Hennings and more premier surf media captains.

Matt’s been shaping for 28 years (he’s currently 45 years old) and is widely regarded as the best shaper for Southern California waves. But, he reaches far beyond the CA and #31 was one of thousands he made last year: “I used the foam, stringer and glass job that I use on all of Kolohe’s boards. It wasn’t a Huntington Beach go-go-go board. It was a board you could surf in powerful waves and push hard against it. It wasn’t a previously designed board, I put a bit of flare in it.
