Trending: The Long Sleeve Maxi Dress

long-sleeve-maxi-dress
It’s beginning to look a lot like Winter, which means subbing Summer’s flowy dresses and skin for restrictive skinny jeans. NOT. Cozy up to one of our favorite styles of the season: the Long Sleeve Maxi Dress. It’s all of the comfort and feminine style of the original, minus the chill factor. Sort of like the love child of Mrs. Rabbit and a snuggie, but with far more bohemian flair.

Read on for our tops picks and how to wear the trend…. (more…)

Although our bodies are a crazy cool machine with amazing capabilities…we tend to obsess over one part. Our abs. Well here’s a little tip. Give them a break…and a salad.

Abs are pretty much a result of overall fitness, nutrition and health, and as much as we wish we could, we can’t crunch our way to the abs of our dreams. (Side note; doing hundreds of crunches every day is not good for your back.) The best thing to do is treat your whole body well, have good posture, and opt for a salad or grilled chicken and veggies…instead of a burger and fries (or chicken fingers, or pizza, or my favorite…queso dip)

And FYI, good abs (just like our bodies) come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. We aren’t all going to look like the girl with the crazy ripped six pack who posts a picture of herself in a sports bra every time she goes to the bathroom at the gym. (Yes, that’s a pet peeve.)

Eat clean, work out, stop obsessing, and give those abs (and yourself) a break.

Photo Tip: Kelsey Finn

Dancing In The Flowers
Photo Tip of the Week from photo contributor, Kelsey Finn…
Focusing on your subject underwater can be tricky. I like to use the “AI Servo” setting on my Canon (“Continuous/AF-C” on Nikons). This mode of focus is the best for underwater because it actively focuses on moving subjects. If you or the subject moves, this mode will automatically readjust focus. Since it s nearly impossible to stay still underwater, I guarantee you will need the help of the Continuous/AI Servo focus mode.
