Headed by Vipe Desai, president of Propaganda Headquarters, BLUE’s goal is to raise $1 million through the sale of special edition apparel created by industry’s top manufactures. All proceeds will benefit the Surfrider Foundation’s network of 60 grassroots chapters, thereby helping to stem the loss of water quality, coastal access and sand loss at beaches and surf spots across the country. Who says there’s no surf in NYC? Established in November 2004, the James Danziger Gallery, located in the heart of the Chelsea art district, has earned a major following through its high standard of connoisseurship and expertise to a range of visual projects including film and publishing. As is the case with its Tom Adler exhibition (the most visible and eclectic publisher of rare and historic surf photography), featuring a stunning series of images from the sport’s much-honored beginnings. Showcasing photos from industry veterans Jeff Divine and Ron Church, Adler also displays his own graphic artworks with images from projects he has directed and archives he has rediscovered.
