West Coastin’ | Big Sur A Series On Sand + Sun with Guest Blogger Leah.

I can’t really complain about living in Southern California, but sometimes I do wish we were able to see the brilliant fall colors this season showcases. I decided a trip up north would take me to these falls colors and also give me an adventure fix.  So this past weekend I ventured up the coast headed north. With stops in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Cambria we made our way up the narrow roads to Big Sur! We decided to camp – which was chilly but so much fun. Once we pitched our tent we went out to explore what this amazing coastline has to offer. We stopped at McWay Falls, one of my favorite places to visit here and cruised all along the roads stopping in remote places that had the most spectacular views. One thing about going north is it is a little colder than I’m used to, so having some comfy jackets was a must.  Boyfriend jeans are also a perfect camping staple as they slip on easily and make a comfortable and stylish way to keep warm. Here are some snapshots from my adventures and the clothing essentials for a camping trip in Big Sur!

Open Road Style | Laguna Beach

tallow-pants3
This week’s open road adventure took me to a secluded beach in Laguna. There is nothing better than a little fall weather to provide crisp air, warm sun, and gorgeous, empty beaches. As much fun as summer is I prefer the quietness that comes with the cooler weather. As the vacationers have gone home and school and work take priority in our daily schedules, it is always good to make time to get down to the beach.

Open Road Style

Lately I’ve been wanting to take a road trip every chance I get. So the past few weekends have been spent traveling up to Yosemite, down to Encinitas, and a pit stop in San Onofre. You don’t have to go far to feel free and refreshed. Whether it is jumping in the salt water, standing among the redwoods, or listening to the sound of the waves from your tent, find your happy place and then take the time to do last minute road trips to wherever that may be.

Wild Pairs

new1
One of my wardrobe staples is a simple pair of denim cutoffs and a basic tee. I could put it on daily. But there are days where I crave that same staple feeling but with a little dash of crazy and daring. My new favorite wild combo consists of these tribal printed shorts and embellished crop top. I love mixing prints. Especially contrasting jungle ones! This combo is still a comfy pair of shorts and a perfect fit tee, but with a more adventurous attitude. I’ve been adding a denim jacket around my waist, carrying this fun neoprene clutch, and wearing some boots to complete this expressive look. Whether I’m climbing through a jungle in tropical paradise or tackling a day at work, this wild outfit will give you the necessary power to go at everything with a bang! Stay comfortable but don’t be afraid to get crazy with your basics and mix some prints!
