The motorcycle jacket is one badass trend. Seen revving up the runways and red carpets, this look is sure to become one of your spring essentials. It can easily be paired with your favorite warm weather dress for an instantly polished look. The motorcycle jacket also works great with skirts, tailored pants and jeans. Without a doubt this classic and versatile jacket is a smart investment. I know you can’t wait to start wearing your sundresses—and now you finally have the perfect excuse.
Easy, cheap and chic. Three words you don’t expect to be in any relation to a style that has become a warm weather staple. This basic piece can easily spruce up any look by adding a bright color or needed edge. Pocket tees and tanks quickly become the saving grace on the days you have nothing to wear! They can serve as a blank canvas to your outfit by being effortlessly dressed up with bold accessories, or just wear them alone for a simpler look.
Judging by Selena Gomez and Nicky Hilton, it looks like the hot skinny jeans trend has evolved into the even hotter ankle zip skinny jeans trend—an even more versatile addition to your wardrobe. Sometimes seen with buttons or clean slits instead of zippers, this look will allow you to try some new styles for spring. For those who aren’t fans of skinny jean, I’m sorry but it looks like they’re going to be around for at least another season. But don’t fear, as the ankle zip version gives you an opportunity to sport the trend without committing to the traditional skinny jeans. I know the words “skinny jeans” alone can strike fear into many, but contrary to popular belief it’s a look that can be worn by anyone. It’s really all about proportions, so try wearing a longer, looser top to balance the look.
“It’s a new start for me. To win on your home turf, in front of all these people, it’s unbelievable.” — Stephanie Gilmore, 2009 Roxy Gold Coast Pro Champion
The Roxy Pro Gold Coast came to an end this weekend, and without any surprise the crown goes to Stephanie Gilmore. Stephanie had dominated most of the final, but in the last minutes fellow finalist Melanie Bartels stepped it up and fought hard to give Gilmore a scare. “I was definitely nervous surfing against her,” Steph said. “She’s a great surfer and I know she has the ability to throw good scores right back at me.” (more…)
