LOVE IT OR HATE IT???

There are so many trends out there girls love that may raise an eyebrow of confusion for guys. We may get compliments from other stylish chicks, or metro guys on how we have such cool style. Personally I find it most flattering when a girl with awesome style or my hairdresser Eduardo notices my new bag, or nude color wedges.

But I wanted to see what a typical guy thinks about some of these “iffy” trends out there. So here it is, my completely unscientific survey of the loves and hates from the other gender. Quite fascinating, but the guys at Swell were quite in tune with all these trends and had some strong emotional reactions to them.

1. Oversized button up shirts: LOVE IT
2. Boyfriend Jeans: LOVE IT
3. High Waisted denim: LOATHE IT
4. Maxi dresses: LOVE IT, BUT PREFER SHORT SKIRTS
5. One piece swim suit: LOVE IT, BUT PREFER 2 PIECE
6. Top bun hair style: EHH, INDIFFERENT
7. Combat boots: SCARED OF IT

CROPPED TOPS: Not just a Kelly Kapowski look!

I am thrilled that proportions are changing, since I’m pretty much over long tunic tops paired with skinny leggings. But then again, I am a very fickle person. (This may explain my fear of commitment, or ever venturing out to get a tattoo)

OK, back to the subject, so right now I have traded all my longer tees for shorter cropped ones that hit at the natural waist line. I know what you’re thinking, “Who is this crazy girl, first she’s trying to sell me on cheeky bottom swimwear, and now cropped tops?” But I am telling you, you can rock this look, and make it appear so tasteful and hip. Just outfit these tops with a pair of denim pants or shorts that are high rise or hit your belly button.

My personal favorite pair of denim are the Cheap Monday Tight Skinny Denim in Indigo. My friends snickered at first and said I was trying to be Kelly from Saved By the Bell, but now I am starting to get so many compliments on my outfits when I go out. Girls, (and even guys), what is your take???

Turn the Other Cheek (and Turn Heads)!

Hi Everyone,
Let me first introduce myself: My name is Hannah and I buy/merchandise the girl’s product for the Swell website.
So I’d have to say I scored on my dream job, shopping high and low for the latest trends to bring to you in one easy to find place…Swell.com! I have a lot of obsessions of the moment, whether it be a new and upcoming brand, new silhouettes, or the “it” color of the season. I wanted to share with you some of my favs, and why I want to push them on you…(yes my friends sometimes say I am bossy!).  I’ll blog about what is hot every week, and I would love to get your feedback on what you think!

So right now, I am in love with cheeky bottom swim suits. I know girls, some of us are modest and do not want all of our goods hanging out. But I promise you, these cheeky bottoms are so flattering! They make flat butts more bubbly, and shrinks big bums. I was reluctant at first, but I am so hooked on this new silhouette. Some of my favorite styles right now are from Lolli Beach Candy, Eberjey, and Billabong’s Brandy Bottom. So girls, next time you are sporting this bottom at the beach or pool….I promise all heads will turn.
