Swell at the Miami Swimwear Show!

Sneak Peak at Spring 2012 Swimwear Trends….

We just got back from the Miami Swim Show, and there were some very exciting trends and new brands we are in love with! Associate buyer Hillary and I met with countless brands, attended the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and of course soaked up the sun in South Beach. Here are our top 5 favorite finds for the upcoming season:

1. Lingerie-inspired corset tops
2. Crochet
3. 50′s inspired high waisted bottoms
4. Fringe, fringe, and more fringe
5. Brazilian cut cheeky bottoms, the skimpier the better

Top 5 Must Haves for a Tropical Vacation

It’s Summer, and I have the travel bug. I’m planning my trip to Hawaii’s North Shore next month, and I will be spending it lying on the beach sipping mai tais and eating poke. Does it get any better than that? Doggie (Stand-Up) Paddling!

Paddling boarding is so fun, but paddling boarding with your pup is even better. Since I run and hike with my dog Meena, why not take her paddle boarding? My dog is fat. When she walks her bum waddles a bit, and her stomach bounces back and forth. Almost weighing as much as me, I was skeptical I could get her to SUP. Equipped with her life jacket, Meena plopped on the board with her tail eagerly wagging, and a big grin on her face. It didn’t take much coaxing at all. She really kept her balance, which is more than I can say about my first time.
So here it is, a snap shot of Meena and I cruising the Newport Backbay on Independence Day.
( This picture was taken just before she jumped off the board and threw me into the water…. It was good while it lasted!)
