Every now and then, you can (gasp) actually get really inspired by social media. Case in point: wise words from the queen of inspiration herself…Oprah. Ms O Tweeted the other day, “I’d rather have a life of ‘OH WELLS’ than a life of ‘WHAT IFS.”
Well, me too Oprah. Preach it. (more…)Thank you for visiting the Swell blog. Visit us on www.facebook.com/swell for more exclusive fan offers, giveaways and more.
One of the easiest things you can do to instantly de-stress or feel better, is by going outside and getting a breath of fresh air. Yes even if it’s hot and humid, or cold and rainy. Fresh air does a body and mind a whole lot of good. It’s a daily dose of fresh Vitamin O2. That tip’s been around for quite some time. (more…)
You’ve heard the sayings, when life gives you lemons…make lemonade, a lemonade vodka, gin & tonic, lemon bars, (usually it’s something food or beverage related). Well one of the single best mood lifters for me, is surfing. Maybe not at Malibu with 600 people on a weekend when there is a swell, but most of the time, it makes me feel better, puts things into perspective, is a stress relief, calms me down, makes me smile, and is my go to happy pill. In fact when I am feeling down, (or like lemons are belong chucked at me from all angles) 98% of the time it’s because I haven’t been in the water enough.
So I say, the next time life gives you lemons, squeeze one of them in your hair, and go for a surf.
Maybe you’ll even score some free highlights. More likely from the sun and saltwater though, since the lemon juice will probably rinse off when you hop in the water.

Taking pics of ourselves is fun, helps us document parts of our life, especially when we look better than normal, or have fake eyelashes on. But I’ll admit it. The obsession is getting to me a little bit. For the following reason. One of the easiest ways to be unhappy in your life, is to have your mindset be all about…you. The me, me, me, meeeeeeeee mentality. It’s unhealthy, leads to narrow minded thinking, and to be blunt, is really boring to be around. (more…)
