SeaMade: Float On A series on surf, cross training and lessons on all things salty by guest blogger, Madison

I don’t know about you, but life has been hectic lately. Between my final semester of college and a couple of jobs, finding time for fun & games takes major time management skills. But you know what? We can still find time to do the things we love. One of the best secrets I’ve found is to say “F it” and procrastinate a little. During these moments of rebellion, heading to the ocean can be the biggest savior in the midst of chaos. Go surfing without the mindset that you have to catch the most waves or perform the best. Instead, go with the mindset of pure gratitude for the ocean and take advantage of its support.

Lately, I’ve been going for midday surfs when the crowds are light and the sun is out in full force. Even if the waves are tiny, you’ll never regret going surfing as long as you go with a positive attitude. Paddling out to the kelp beds or outside your local lineup and simply floating around will give you a few moments of peace and clarity that your mind so desperately needs.  You’ll see…looking back at the shore from a half mile or more out at sea is just one of those feel good moments that nothing else really compares too. Float on…
